Tips for Keeping Chickens Healthy During the Rainy Season

Whenever the rainy season arrives, poultry farmers, especially those raising broilers, need to be extra vigilant. The humid weather isn't just difficult to manage; it also provides an opportunity for various diseases to emerge and can easily stress the chickens. Today, we want to talk about how to handle the rainy season to keep your chickens healthy and ensure high-quality production.

1.Ensure Your Coop is Ready

Rainfall immediately increases the humidity inside the coop. If there's poor ventilation, diseases are sure to follow.
Check that your fans and ventilation systems are ready to operate.
Clear weeds around the coop to improve air circulation and reduce areas where germs can accumulate.

2.Pay Attention to Bedding Material

Damp rice husks are a major cause of increased ammonia levels and a breeding ground for pathogenic bacteria.
Turn the bedding regularly to reduce moisture and prevent disease.
Absolutely avoid letting the bedding get wet from rainwater.

3.Boost Your Chickens' Immunity

Good health is the best defense against rainy season diseases.
Provide enough clean food and water.
Supplement their diet with nutrients or products that help boost immunity to reduce the chance of infection.

4.Isolate Sick Chickens Immediately

Unhealthy chickens can spread disease to the entire flock.
Check the health of your chickens regularly.
If you find a sick chicken, separate it from the flock immediately to break the cycle of spreading the disease.

Probiotics: A Helpful Aid During the Rainy Season

Many farms are now starting to use probiotics in chicken farming. Research supports that they help boost immunity, inhibit the growth of pathogens, balance the digestive system, and truly reduce stress in chickens. The result is healthier chickens with firm, high-quality meat, and a reduced chance of transmitting pathogens from animals to humans.
