“Soil Digest Microorganism Learning Station at the ‘Green Gain Day: No Burning, More Earnings’ Event”
At the auditorium of Bang Nam Priao District Office, Chachoengsao Province
On June 11, 2026, the Chachoengsao Provincial Agricultural Office organized the event “Green Gain Day: No Burning, More Earnings 2026” to raise awareness and encourage farmers to reduce burning in agricultural areas. The event was honored by the presence of Ms. Chattraporn Niyom, Governor of Chachoengsao, who presided over the opening ceremony.
This initiative promotes the concept:
“Stop burning, turn agricultural residues into value, increase income, and reduce pollution.”
The event featured three learning stations:
Station 1: Use of microorganisms to decompose rice straw, led by the Chachoengsao Rice Research Center in collaboration with Siam Agri Supply Co., Ltd. (SAS)
Station 2: Promotion of low-water farming practices, conducted by leading farmers and the Chachoengsao Provincial Agricultural Office
Station 3: Income generation and value creation from agricultural waste, organized by Phanom Sarakham District Agricultural Office and the Green Gain Hub
The rice residue decomposition station was packed with valuable knowledge, including:
Proper use of Soil Digest to effectively break down rice straw while reducing costs
Implementation of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) rice farming using simple tools such as PVC pipes
Farmers showed strong interest and positive engagement, demonstrating that when practical, effective, and accessible alternatives to burning are provided, farmers are ready to adopt them. This marks an excellent starting point for collaboration among all stakeholders to drive Thailand’s key economic crop—rice—toward a truly low‑carbon future.
Finally, SAS would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Chachoengsao Provincial Agricultural Office for organizing such a valuable event for local farmers and for welcoming participation from the private sector.
Note: Special thanks for some of the images provided by the Chachoengsao Provincial Public Relations Office.
