On June 9, the Bangkok Agricultural Extension Office organized the “Green Gain Day – No Burning, More Income 2026” event to raise awareness and motivate farmers to reduce agricultural burning. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ms. Thanyathita Boonyamanikul, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension. The event featured four learning stations: 1. Straw decomposition microorganisms by TISTR 2. Biochar production by the International Biochar Association Asia Pacific (IBAP) 3. Hydroponic vegetables 4. Academic marketplace, along with booths from related government agencies such as the Rice Research Center, Bangkok Land Development Station, BAAC, and many private sector exhibitors.
Soil Digest participated as one of the alternative microbial solution booths to help farmers reduce burning in a truly effective and sustainable way. It is affordable and easy to use. In addition, Siam Agri Supply Co., Ltd. provided Soil Digest to Ms. Sansanee Nitithammayong, a Bangkok farmer, to establish a 15-rai demonstration plot for managing agricultural residues using microbial solutions. SAS would like to express sincere thanks to the Bangkok Agricultural Extension Office for organizing such a valuable activity for farmers in the area.
We also thank the Audiovisual Group, Department of Agricultural Extension, for some of the photos.
