Highlights from the training session on "Promoting Safe Rice Farming: Cargill’s Commitment 2026," part of the Cargill Cares Project.

On May 7–8, 2026, the rice straw decomposing microbial product “Soil Digest” from Siam Agri Supply Co., Ltd. (SAS) was honored to participate in the training program titled “Promoting Safe Rice Farming: Cargill’s Commitment 2026” under the Cargill Cares Project. The event was organized by the Institute of Agricultural Technology, Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), under the Agriculture for Society (CSR) Project, in collaboration with Cargill Meats (Thailand) Limited, and was held at Suranaree Hall, Surasammanakhan Building, Suranaree University of Technology.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Ms. Natcha Phanpheng, Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Agriculture and Cooperatives Officer, with a welcome address delivered by Prof. Dr. Jirawat Yongsawasdikul, Acting Dean of the Institute of Agricultural Technology, SUT. Mr. Apichai Srisawang, Head of Business Support and Employee Services at Cargill Meats (Thailand) Limited, presented the objectives of the 2026 project activities.
The training sessions covered key topics for participating farmers, including rice seed information by the Nakhon Ratchasima Rice Seed Center, Department of Rice; the application of drones in agriculture by the Department of Agricultural Engineering, SUT; rice field management under changing climate conditions by the Institute of Agricultural Technology; and strategies to reduce rice production costs amid rising energy prices by the Agriculture for Society (CSR) Project, SUT. All sessions aimed to enhance modern farmers’ capabilities and promote safe and sustainable agricultural practices.
The event also featured exhibition booths from both public and private sector organizations, including the Nakhon Ratchasima Rice Seed Center, Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Agriculture Office, Land Development Regional Office 3, agricultural drone exhibitors, and Siam Agri Supply Co., Ltd. (SAS).
