The Chaipattana Foundation and SAS continue to promote the reduction of rice straw burning in paddy fields.
On June 5, 2025, Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General, along with a team, visited a demonstration plot in Ayutthaya to monitor the use of Soil Digest microorganisms.
They participated in a lecture and exchanged views on the implementation of microorganisms to decompose rice straw as an alternative to burning. This initiative helps reduce PM2.5 dust and carbon dioxide emissions, while revitalizing the soil within 5 to 7 days, with insights from both experts and local farmers.
This effort receives cooperation from multiple sectors, including the Chaipattana Foundation, the Thai Rice Foundation, the RAIN project by Winrock International, and researchers from Kasetsart University. The goal is to create a model for farmers nationwide.
Because stopping burning is the starting point for sustainable agriculture.
